"Refuse to Lose" - Results (2018)
So the dust has settled on Refuse to Lose and my predictions were a bit hampered by not recognising the importance of the upcoming Loaded return. In the face of that kick start for Defiant programming this show seemed a bit of a holding position to allow fueds to run into the new shows. Anyway - how did my predictions fare?
There was a dark match between Drake and Zeo Knox which was unannounced so I didn't predict for that one.
David Starr def Nathan Cruz (1-0)
David Starr continues his solid run picking up a win over the heel Nathan Cruz s expected. Nice to see the pair setting up an ongoing fued that will hopefully play out over the coming Loaded episodes.
Lana Austin def Kay Lee Ray (2-0)
Suddenly a bit of depth is starting to creep back i…
"Refuse to Lose" predictions (2018)
I've left it a bit late to do some predicitons for Refuse to Lose but here goes. As ever the card has been subject to change, and I'm taking the order from the Defiant website but I guess as the show is on tonight then it should be defined by now...?
The South Coast Connection v Chris Brookes & ???
It's unfortunate that the ongoing injury issues of Kid Lykos are preventing us getting to see CCK in action so Chris Brookes is now regularly partnered with ???. Defiant have been very quiet about who it will be but I guess if it was a big(ish) name they would have used that to sell tickets so it's probably quite random. SCC (as Defiant are referring to them) are back for the first time in ages which makes this one difficult to call as it's not…
"Fight or Flight" - Results
OK - so how did I do with my predictions for Fight or Flight?
The dark match between Shreddy Brek and Rory Coyle was obviously unannounced so no predictions for that.
John Klinger def Omari (1-0)
Not a difficult one to predict - Bad Bones needs to look strong going into a programme with Rampage so he picked up the win. Omari put in some good offence and was very over though.
Alpha Bad def The Hunter Brothers (2-0)
I'm certain that Alpha Bad will be having a run with the title so they went over the jobber tag team.
El Phantasmo def Will Ospreay (3-0)
The rising star needed the rub as he heads into a probable title run so this seemd obvious but it's a shame that Ospreay is the one to have to put everyone else over as the best wrestler on the roste…
"Fight or Flight" predictions
As it's nearly time for the next of Defiant's monthly shows, Fight or Flight I thought I'd have a go at a predictions article. The card has been changing so this is at the time of writing and based on the order they are listed on the Defiant website. It's also difficult to know where things will head due to the fluid nature of the roster so you never really know who is stcking around and therefore who they will want to put over. Anyway - let's have a go...
Alpha Bad vs The Hunter Brothers
Assuming they are sticking around I'd say Alpha Bad are set to have a run with the Defiant Tag Team Championship so they will go over The Hunter Brothers to look strong heading into a future programme with Aussie Open.
Omari v John Klinger
They've set up B…
Two former Defiant champions archived from the roster
Definat have updated their roster page ahead of Fight or Flight and it's seen two former champions moved to the alumni section. Zack Sabre Jr. has been moved across which is not too much of a suprise as he had been running down his bookings so that he can concentrate on his commitments in Japan.
However the removal of former Women's Champion Millie McKenzie is more of a surprise. McKenzie was last seen at the Ringmaster Tournament but pulled out mid-way through due to injury. It was unclear whether that was a kayfabe part of the storyline but McKenzie has been wrestling regularly since then for other promotions, so it looks like she is done with the company, at least for the time being.
Another notable removal is long time worker Alex Graci…
